Unlike other children May Oo was born unique surrounded by rainbows and butterflies. Raised in a country with limitations, yet managed to received a first ever academy award for the best make-up artist with ‘Mhee’ cinematic film in 2019 at Star awards.
May Oo is a beautiful soul who never forget to honor his first teachers i.e. December Hnin and May Oo Maung who were probably the top makeup artist around 2 decades back. Wanting to spawn more of his potential, May Oo got an opportunity to complete makeup courses from Makeup Forever Academy and Chic Studio Makeup school in New York, 2016 with a help of a grateful client.
From then on, his magical hands started painting beautiful faces which enable him to be invited as Maybelline New York KOL and Makeup artist to have collaborated works for runway models in 2018. In the following year, an opportunity spark; which gave May Oo an invitation by L’Oréal Paris to attend fashion week together with one of the top actresses in Myanmar. Even before that time, May Oo was already flooded with collaborated works and Brand Ambassadorships wanting to deal with him.
May Oo also give on-job trainings to his students which is evidenced in managing makeup for Fashion Weeks and events by Star and Model agency for more than a decade until 2020. He use to say everyone including his students that ‘Guys, please use best products and apply makeup as if you are applying it for the most important day in your own lives. Give clients not only makeup looks but our hearts too’. Such a talented artist with a promising future while every women and brides in the country are biding for. May Oo’s hands are so magical that almost all the actresses and socialites in Myanmar wanted May Oo for their commercial shoots and occasion.
Anything is possible when May Oo touches your face because you can either be a Manhattan’s socialite, a high fashion model, a bride of the century or the most dramatic one in the movies.
